Tomelilla GK: history
Tomelilla Golf Club was formed in 1987, with the course placed just outside the town of Tomelilla. The situation was quite unique, as the course was built on the municipality's former waste tip.
The club has grown quickly, and the 18 holes were completed in 1990. The following year, the fine clubhouse was built, from where there is a wonderful panoramic view over virtually the entire course. In the same year, a 9-hole par 3 course was built, as well as practice areas.
The course has been continually improved and has proved very popular. Beautifully situated in the Österlen countryside.
Course facts: Tomelilla GK is a woodland and parkland course with a number of water hazards. An 18-hole course (par 73) that hosted the Swedish matchplay championship in 2000 and 2001. Regarded as a very challenging course with a fantastic layout.
